This guide focuses on utilizing the Leveling Board (often known as the Bounty Board) and Gramps (the Mission/Request NPC) to reach max level efficiently on a mid-rate Renewal server.
1. 🔰 Getting Started (Level 1 – 10)
- Objective: Finish the Novice Training Grounds and reach the 1st Job change level quickly.
- Method:
- Create your character and complete the Novice Training Grounds.
- Once in your chosen city (Prontera is recommended), take the first few quests from the Leveling Board NPC. These initial quests usually require killing simple mobs near town (e.g., Porings, Fabres, Lunatics).
- Alternatively, simply kill the required mobs near the 1st Job change area until you hit Job Level 10.
- Result: Job change to your desired 1st Class (e.g., Swordman, Magician, Thief).
2. ⚡ The Grind Begins (Level 10 – 99 Base)
This phase utilizes the Leveling Board and Gramps' repeatable missions for massive EXP gains.
A. Leveling Board (10 – 70)
| Base Level Range | Recommended Map / Mission | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 10 – 30 | Payon Dungeon F1, Spore Fields | Use the Leveling Board for early quests (e.g., Zombies, Poporings). |
| 30 – 55 | Orc Village (Orc Warriors, Orc Ladies) | This is a classic spot. Use the Leveling Board quest for Orcs if available. |
| 55 – 70 | Glast Heim St. Abbey (Wraiths, Evil Druids) | Excellent EXP. Always check Gramps for the Glast Heim Mission; it offers huge EXP. |
B. Transition to Renewal Maps (70 – 99)
| Base Level Range | Recommended Map / Mission | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 70 – 85 | Lighthalzen Field (Sting, Stem Worm) | Take the Leveling Board Quest here. The EXP is very good for this range. |
| 85 – 99 | Moscovia Dungeon F3 (Les, Baba Yaga) | The Leveling Board quest for Moscovia is very popular. Alternatively, try Rachel Sanctuary for fast EXP if your gear permits. |
- Crucial Step at Base Level 99: Ensure you have reached Job Level 50 (or 70 for 2nd Transcendent jobs) and perform your Rebirth/Transcendent job change.
3. 🚀 Transcendent / 3rd Job Jump (Level 100 – 175)
Post-Rebirth, focus primarily on Gramps' repeatable missions and Instance Dungeons.
A. Gramps (100 – 150)
At this stage, Gramps missions become the primary and fastest source of EXP. You must party with others to make the missions efficient.
| Base Level Range | Gramps Mission Target (Example) | Recommended Location | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 – 115 | Magmaring / Pasana | Magma Dungeon 2 | Fast clear, decent density. Good spot if Gramps target is available. |
| 115 – 130 | Lighthalzen Bio Lab F2 | Lighthalzen Biolabs (LHB) 2 | High difficulty! Requires strong gear and party cohesion. |
| 130 – 145 | Nidhoggur's Dungeon / Juperos | Nidhoggur's Shadow Dungeon | Often a daily Gramps target. Great EXP. |
| 145 – 150 | Bifrost Field / Scaraba Hole | El Dicastes / Scaraba Hole 2 | Scaraba missions (Gramps) are extremely high EXP. |
B. The Final Stretch Gramps (150 – 175)
This phase is dominated by high-level maps and repeatable Gramps requests.
- Level 150 – 165: Focus on Rock Ridge Field (Sentry, Pistolero). The Rock Ridge Leveling Board provides excellent EXP for this bracket. Alternatively, check Gramps for Wasteland or Tomb of the Fallen missions.
- Level 165 – 175: The best methods are:
- Gramps High-Tier Missions: Target mobs like Firelock Soldier, Amdarais, or Siegfried.
- Instance Dungeons: Daily runs of Old Glast Heim (Hard) and Geffen Magic Tournament yield high EXP and valuable items.
- Splendide/Manuk Field: Use the Leveling Board quests in these areas if Gramps is busy.
💡 General Tips for Mid-Rate Leveling
- Always Join a Party: EXP sharing and the Gramps/Leveling Board missions are designed for party play.
- Utilize the Warper: Use the **/go** or Warper NPC to instantly travel to major cities or dungeons, saving time.
- Prioritize Job Level: Job EXP is crucial for unlocking powerful 3rd Job skills (Job 60 is the final cap). Never ignore Gramps' Job EXP rewards.
- Use @mi / @whereis: Use commands like @mi <Monster Name> to check monster drops/info and @whereis <Monster Name> to find their location.
- Speed is Key: On mid-rate servers, time is money. Use consumables (Abrasive, Box of Gloom, etc.) and get buffs (Priest/Soul Linker) to clear missions as fast as possible.
Good luck on your journey to 175!
